I was just like you. A human being frustrated and depressed by not finding my voice and not knowing what mixed voice was all about.

I couldn't sleep some nights listening to my favorite songs knowing that my vocal technique was considerably mediocre for those songs.

It's one thing applying for a degree and not learn how to blend your chest and head voice and it's another thing to pay for that $25000.

The curriculum can be extremely vague and uninteresting while the amount of people being in class could make it impossible to ask for personal and specified help.
I've almost been there, but at the last minute cancelled my application.
It all happened about 15 years ago
I remember being in college studying Economics while taking vocal lessons with a classical oriented vocal coach - Cookies after lesson anyone? Not having the results I hoped for when I was younger.
My dream voice was still just a dream.
Then something spectacular happened...
It came to my mind that I had to find friends that had the same ambition to me. I searched through texting a bunch of friends and finally found one that it was known to have achieved a status in modern singing. Facebook and Skype were nowhere to be found back then. The internet was scarce in Europe anyway! It was hard to find someone.
I remember him emailing me back and telling me something like 'You have to try this technique by applying for this course'
And there I was trying to find that course online. It was a DVD.
After one week or so the DVD was at my door.
Experimenting with those exercises is still a vivid moment for me even now.
From that moment I understood that you need a specific formula in order to sing better and not just a bunch of tips.

How much time does it take to complete the course?
The course can be completed within a week. I strongly recommend to complete it at least two times before you go into working by yourself with the backing tracks.
Don't rush on that. Trust me it needs some time, work and patience.

Will I see the results I am longing for?
My promise to you is if you put the hard work your voice will shine in time. If you are looking for a magic pill process you are on the wrong page. I suggest that if someone that calls himself professional promise something alike runaway!
